I like to use 3 diﬀerent types of ﬁlters in the ﬁeld. Some of these eﬀects can be duplicated in the computer, but I like to do as much as I can in the ﬁeld. The ﬁrst ﬁlter I never leave home without is a Singh-Ray LB Color Combo Polarizer. Polarizers help saturate colors, reduce glare, and add contrast. I love how my skies pop when I use polarizers. I also use Singh-Ray graduated neutral density (ND) ﬁlters. These 4"-×-6"-rectangular ﬁlters are shaded on the top and clear on the bottom. These ﬁlters help reduce contrast you encounter at sunrise and sunset.
